Description

HNBR is used in various areas such as the automotive industry (for coolants, AdBlue, oil and fuel systems), industrial applications, the oil and gas industry as well as in the food, pharmaceutical and medicine industry.

HNBR is a hydrated version of NBR (nitrile) rubber, which is a copolymer made of ACN and 1.3-butAdia. Compared to NBR, however, HNBR contains fewer double bonds from the 1.3-buttai monomer units, which improves its chemical resistance, thermal stability and oxidation resistance.

Thanks to these properties, HNBR is used in a variety of applications, such as in the automotive industry for coolant, AdBlue, oil and fuel systems, in the oil and gas industry as well as in the food, pharmaceutical and medicine industry. The high resistance to high temperatures, ozone and chemicals make HNBR an excellent choice for applications in demanding environments.

HNBR is known for its physical strength and the ability to preserve its properties even after long -term exposure to heat, oil and chemicals. Depending on the type of filler and loading connections, HNBR seals typically have tensile strengths of 20 to 31 MPa at a temperature of 23 ° C. Thanks to mixing techniques, HNBR can be used in a wide temperature range from -40 ° C to 150 ° C and even up to 160 ° C in oil without worming over long periods. HNBR types with low ACN content should be used for applications at low temperatures, while HNBR types with white fillers should be used for better performance at high temperatures. Like NBR, the fluid and chemical resistance of HNBR with increasing ACN content improves.

Due to these unique properties, HNBR has found broad acceptance in automotive, industrial and other performance-intensive applications. In the automotive sector, HNBR is the largest consumer because it is used for a variety of dynamic and static seals, hoses and straps. HNBR also often applies in industrial seals for oil field expansion and processing as well as in roles for steel and paper factories.
