EPDM seals: High-quality sealing for industrial and drinking water applications

PDM, short for ethylene propylene diene monomer, is an outstanding material in the field of industrial seals. An EPDM seal is known for its excellent resistance to extreme temperatures, UV radiation and chemicals, making it ideal for use in a wide range of industries. Thanks to these wide range of applications, EPDM O-rings have established themselves as a first-class choice from the automotive industry to food processing.

Is EPDM suitable for drinking water?

Is EPDM suitable for drinking water?

Yes, EPDM seals, especially O-rings made of EPDM material, are generally suitable for drinking water applications. With its good resistance to ozone, aging, weather as well as vapors and hot water, an EPDM O-ring offers resistance, which makes it a preferred sealing solution in areas such as water hydraulics, pneumatics, sanitary facilities or even for household machines. However, it is important to note that EPDM is not resistant to chlorine and is therefore not recommended for use in conditions where chlorine is present.
Available in our shop in various degrees of hardness from 40 to 80 Shore, each EPDM O-ring offers properties that cover a wide temperature range from 40 °C to 100 °C (sulphur-crosslinked) or even from 40 °C to 140 °C (peroxide networked). These O-rings are also suitable for various approvals including KTW Recommendation, FDA Compliance, EN Clearance, NSF Clearance, WRC/WRAS Clearance, ACS Compliance, USP Class VI, 3-A Sanitary Class II and EC 1935/2004.
With every EPDM seal here in our shop, you can be sure that your drinking water applications are reliably sealed, meet the required standards and regulations and that you can always obtain them at an attractive price-performance ratio.
